As you run away just as before
Covering your tracks, her imaginary man
Once again she {lies} over the toilet bowl regurgitating
{shame}
{hate}
Forcing out every flaw in a dying hope to save you
Yet of all the hate you held for her
You could never hate her even h
a
l
f as much as she hated herself
Keeping on in a desperate search for Mr Nobody
Each of her wasted tears fell in a silent prayer you would survive
Strange how those tiny atoms that build up her world
were torn apart
As easily as running fingertips through the calmest of water
~so fragile~
delicate as the weakest butterfly's wings
And it makes me question, did you mean
just...
one...
single
promise you made
And if you did, were they only there | so you could break them
break her
You succeeded magnificently
Six feet under with the bitter sweet taste of you
still lingering upon icy lips
The salt from your tears still fresh against her skin
mark when it was your turn to pray for her survival
In the end it all comes down to you
her i m a g i n a r y man
If for one day you could have only stepped away from the shadows
revealed yourself
Maybe just maybe she could have survived
but no one can live off an imaginary love
hope
dream
and certainly not you.....an imaginary man
